V.A.P.E.Virtual Arts Perceptual Experience
Eric Retterbush is a wet plate collodion photographer in Flagstaff Arizona. He combines the skill of a once dead 19th century art technique with the beauty and diversity of the human race to create one-of-a-kind images forever encased in pure silver. He specializes in portraits. A portrait is sincere; it is with permission and it is an intimate experience for both the sitter and photographer. This unique process of photography allows him the ability to embrace the imperfections of the human hand and the truthful permanence of the final image. Each tintype is built with care, precision and a bit of serendipity.
